M-Sand stands for Manufactured Sand.
It is a substitute for natural river sand, produced by crushing hard stones (like granite or basalt) into fine aggregates. It is widely used in construction for concrete, plastering, and masonry works because of its consistent quality, cost-effectiveness, and availability. The crushed sand is of cubical shape with grounded edges, washed and graded to as a construction material. The size of manufactured sand (M-Sand) is less than 4.75mm
M-Sand is classified based on its end use and particle size:
Concrete M Sand
- Used for concrete mix in construction.
- Coarser in texture (usually passing 4.75 mm sieve).
- Provides high compressive strength.
2. Plastering M Sand
- Finer particles (passing 2.36 mm sieve).
- Used for plastering walls and finishing works.
- Provides smooth surface finish.
3. M-Sand for Block Work / Brick Work
- Medium quality sand.
- Used for masonry, block laying, and brick laying purposes.
4. P Sand (Plastering Sand)
- Very fine grade of M-Sand.
- Specifically manufactured for plastering and tiling works.

Provides better strength in concrete (angular particles).
Eco-friendly alternative to river sand.
Forplastering, P-Sand (fine grade M-Sand) works well.
- For bigger projects, always buy in MT (weight) → more accurate & cost-effective. For small works, CFT is okay.
